The Wellness Seminars prepared and run by Michelle Owen have their foundation structured from the C.H.E.K. NLC, (Nutrition & Lifestyle Coaching).

They bring together and teach an awareness of many topics and include the "6 Foundation Life Principles";

  • Thoughts

  • Hydration

  • Breathing

  • Nutrition

  • Exercise

  • Sleep

Also covered are;

  • Changing posture to improve quality of life and the reduction of pain both in the workplace as well as in personal lifestyle.

  • Reducing stress and the hormonal im-balance created by it.

  • Nutrition & Metabolic Typing (Eating right for each persons body type). We offer a questioner that can be filled out to define the specific requirements for each individual for this.
    (This will be available online as required)

With even minimal positive changes in any or all of these life controlling aspects above we can produce a remarkable positive difference in the overall wellness for ourselves.

For the people attending these wellness seminars they will receive practical, easy to understand information and tools on how to improve their overall health and wellness. Some of the benefits that companies gain from running the Wellness Seminars are;

For Companies

  • Improved employee morale

  • Increased productivity

  • Reduction of employee turnover

  • Fewer absentees through sickness

  • Ability to cope more effectively with stressful situations

  • Increased employee loyalty due to appreciation of working for a company that cares.

To help them achieve better health and vitality they will learn about the link between nutrition, exercise, environmental influences, stress and our thinking processes and how we can improve our daily wellness through easy to implement and manage, lifestyle changes.

Seminar duration can be tailored to specific needs and in general are structured on 60, 90 min. or half day time spans.

Whole day seminars are available.

THE NUMBERS
Workplace Wellness Statistics

Research conducted by TNS New Zealand examined and measured the value to a business of employees having subsidised health insurance. results of the survey showed:

On average, the uninsured had to wait 11 weeks longer for hospitalisation following a GP referral.

While waiting for treatment, normal work performance is adversely affected for 48 per cent of uninsured verses 25 per cent of insured employees.

36 per cent of uninsured employees are likely to experience high stress levels while waiting for treatment in contrast to 20 per cent of those with insurance.

Absenteeism from work for the insured averaged 14 days compared to 71 days for the uninsured.
