 Posture Correction and the health benefits.

Postural Correction

As a C.H.E.K. Practitioner Michelle will efficiently and effectively isolate the areas where each client needs coaching, correction, stabilisation, specific core conditioning or whatever your need maybe.

After a comprehensive postural and orthopaedic assessment of structure, movement skills, nutrition and lifestyle factors, a customised program is then developed.

The C.H.E.K. system is multidisciplinary and therefore, Michelle seeks to prioritise your efforts to the most important things first leading then onto a series of planned progression that are goal focused and in tune with your overall needs.

The C.H.E.K. system is a scientifically based education program that requires extensive training for the practitioners. It is, in its own right an art when the practitioner is applying these methods with clients.

Michelle will apply her extensive skills to best suit your needs as an individual, providing you with the necessary understandings as she is training you.

Poor body posture and the benefit of its correction.

When we are not maintaining good posture and adequate overall body support it will add strain to muscles and put stress on the neck, back, hips, organs and many other parts of our body.

Over time, the stress of poor posture can change the anatomical characteristics of our spines leading to the possibility of constricted blood vessels and nerves. It will also cause the development of problems with muscles, discs and joints throughout the body.

All of these can be major contributors to back and neck pain, as well as headaches, fatigue, and possibly even concerns with major organs and breathing.

Poor or problem posture can be caused by many things. Some of the primary causes are;

  • Stress,

  • Body pain including neck, shoulder and back problems,

  • Muscle weakness,

  • Trauma

  • Surgery

  • Poor breathing pattern,

  • Poor sleep,

  • Poor self-image,

  • Work positions and or conditions,

  • Overweight and many other health conditions.

How poor posture can effect our bodies.

When our bodies are holding a poor posture the effects that this can have on our bodies are often the same as many of the core causes. This creates a circle of conditions that end up getting worse with time. Some of these include;

  • stress,

  • neck, shoulder, lower back pain,

  • muscle weakness,

  • constricted breathing,

  • poor self-image,

  • poor work position.
